Would you like to boost market sales and improve food access in your community? If your answer is yes, you should offer the Maryland Market Money incentive program at your farmers market, farm stand, or CSA!

Maryland Market Money (MMM) is a statewide food access program that feeds Marylanders and supports farmers. MMM removes economic barriers for Marylanders experiencing food insecurity, providing a dollar-for-dollar* match for purchases made using federal nutrition benefits at participating Maryland farmers markets, farm stands, and CSAs while providing technical assistance, training, marketing, and additional services to stakeholders. *Daily limit may apply.

MMM Access Point

  • New and returning farmers markets are welcome to apply. To qualify to participate in the program, farmers markets must have at least two farmers/producers selling their own agricultural products (fruits, vegetables, dairy, grains, eggs, poultry, meat, and fish). Producer-only farm stands and CSAs in Maryland are also eligible to participate. Mobile markets selling produce sourced from local farms serving healthy food priority areas will also be considered.

  • Fill out an online Application Form. Applicants will receive an instant notification acknowledging receipt of the application. Program staff will contact you as soon as possible to learn more about your farmers market, farm stand, or CSA.

  • Program staff will contact you to learn more about your farmers market, farm stand, or CSA operations, including Federal Nutrition Benefit (SNAP/EBT, FMNP (WIC & Senior), eWIC) acceptance standing that will inform the eligibility review process. This may be conducted by phone or email. Ensuring full and complete answers will expedite this part of the process.

  • Program staff will notify applicants whether they have been approved as MMM access points as soon as possible and provide Agreement Paperwork. Funding allotments will be calculated and agreed upon.

  • Applicants who are invited to join MMM will be contacted for orientation to review program basics, the Farmers Market Food Access Coordinator Manual and Agreement Paperwork. This is a ~1 hour phone call that must occur before your farmers market, farm stand, or CSA starts matching.

  • Welcome to the MMM family. Let's start matching!

NEW THIS YEAR: Current participating MMM Access Points do not have to complete this application. Please reach out to sbrauns@smadc.com if your information has changed or for more renewal information.
